Text Rex
Efficiency
TextRex is a tool for quickly renaming items, layers, and masks, and for changing the contents of text layers.
TextRex offers 6 methods of doing so:
• Searching — A basic "Find & Replace" approach. The find field is not case-sensitive, but the replace field is.
• Appending — Add text to the beginning and/or end of the existing text.
• Numbering — Add iterative numbers (1,2,3...) to the beginning and/or end of the existing text.
• Filtering — Keep certain kinds of text and remove everything else.
• Setting — Replace all of the existing text.
• Trimming — Remove characters from the beginning and/or end of the existing text.
These methods can target three different ranges:
• In Selection —
For item names, this affects the highlighted items in the Project panel.
For layer names, this affects the highlighted layers in the active composition.
For mask names, this affects the highlighted masks on one or more layers.
For text contents, this affects the text in all of the selected layers.
• In Composition —
For item names, this affects the name of the active composition.
For layer names, this affects all layer names in the active composition.
For mask names, this affects all mask names in the active composition.
For text contents, this affects the text in the active composition.
• In Project —
For item names, this affects the name of the entire project.
For layer names, this affects all layer names in the entire project.
For mask names, this affects all mask names in the entire project.
For text contents, this affects the text in the entire project.
Note:
TextRex will never change text to be nothing.
